Civil Marriage Celebrant Marlee Bruinsma Queensland Heart2heart Ceremonies...for your heart and soul

The time of your ceremony may depend on the venue you choose.

Some considerations may be:

  • the type of venue - if outdoors, lighting or crowds (imagine a beach on a beautiful summers day) may be a consideration
  • the time of year - the middle of the day in summer may be too hot, late afternoon or evening may be too cold in winter
  • any limits imposed by permits for outdoor venues
  • wedding venue opening hours.

You may like to consider an early morning wedding, with a champagne breakfast. Or a romantic sunset wedding - be aware of where to stand, however, so that you and your guests do not have the sun in your eyes during the ceremony. Have a look at my resources section - weather, roadmaps... to find out sunset and sunrise times and more.

Remember, for a wedding ceremony, you need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month and one day before the date of your marriage. In very limited circumstances, the time can be shortened. However, there is no guarantee that this will be approved.
Wedding venues may offer you a reduced rate if you have a ceremony through the week instead of on the weekend, when most weddings occur. This may be convenient, especially if held later in the afternoon so that guests are able to attend. You might like to check with those most important to you first, however, to ensure they are able to make it.
